Comments: bears are carnivores, and at the top of the food chain. Humans should be able to go into the woods. Bears are a renewable resource. They will continue to procreate. Hunting bears should be allowed so the population is thinned out so that they will be able to have enough food to support the population. Then every 12-15 years they could curb the # of permits issued for bear to allow the population to recover.

If certain areas are closed part of the year to protect the long-term viability of bear populations, people can plan around the closures or use different areas. Bear populations are more important than allowing people access to areas all year.
