Measurement: Size: 9.5-11.5 cm Weight: 18-26 g (0.6-.0.9 oz)

Description: Another common bat, the big brown bat is the bat most often found in townsites and urban areas. It is not afraid of humans and loves a good set of rafters to call home. It is only slightly larger than the little brown bat, and often difficult to differentiate on sight. It is slightly more rusty in colour. They are also more tolerant of cold, staying active until all the other bats have bedded down for the winter.
