Shrubs with Simple, Opposite Leaves )
Honeysuckle Family (Caprifoliaceae)
Habitat: Montane on both sides of Continental Divide
Height: Up to 1 m
Description: This common berry often goes unnoticed due to its drab white berries. The leaves are opposite, almost oval in shape, and 1-5 cm long. The smooth leaf margin tapers to a rounded point, and the underside is slightly hairy. The white, bell-like flowers grow in clusters of 1-5 at the ends of branches at the base of some of the leaves. The flowers are replaced by single, white berries with a single seed.
