Description: An escapee from cultivation, the Manitoba Maple has spread westward from its namesake province. The leaves are distinctly compound in nature with 7 leaflets The leaflets may be slightly furrowed and have coarse teeth. The tree often branches into numerous trunks near the ground and forms a clump-like growth form. It's usually found along streambeds and lakeshores. The smooth bark becomes furrowed with age.
