Description: Broad-leaved twayblade is slightly more showy than northern twayblade. It is a perennial herb that grows from 7-25 cm tall with a single opposite pair of oval leaves and a showy terminal cluster of small orchids.

Flower: The flowers occur in a terminal cluster (raceme). The sepals and petals are similar (tepals). Each flower has five widely spread, linear tepals and a lower, lip witha prominent deeply cleft fork.
