Description: This tall plant has dark green, finely divided leaves and terminates in a narrow spike of blue, flowers with a distinctive spur. The flowers have 5 sepals which resemble petals, along with 4 true petals, and a deep spur. The five petal-like sepals surround the 4 smaller petals. It can be distinguished from the low larkspur by its superior height. Both species of larkspur are very poisonous to cattle.
