Description: This beautiful, nodding wildflower is easily identified. Like all columbines, it has 5 tubular petals, and 5 corresponding spurs. Each petal has a light coloured sepal that curves away from the plant like wings. The anthers and filaments protrude well beyond the petals. The alternate leaves are compound in nature, with three main leaflets branching from a common point. Each of these leaflets is further divided into three to five stalkless leaflets. The individual leaflets are deeply toothed with rounded edges.
