Description: This tiny wintergreen has basal, finely toothed leaves. A single green stem rises up to 20 cm and supports a several waxy green, five-petaled flowers with a very prominent, protruding stigma and style (part of the ovary which receives the pollen). The style is curved slightly, and the flowers are nodding. The flowers give way to woody, brown seed capsules.
