Location: Jasper National Park, Icefields Parkway, south of Jasper Townsite, AB, Canada, UTM: 11U 440331 E / 5835411 N

Vital Statistics: Elevation: 1180 Metres (3,870 Feet)  

Formation Mechanism: Hard Cap Rock

Description: The hard cap-rock of Athabasca Falls is comprised of Quartzite. It has allowed this falls to carve an intricate canyon as it sculpted the rocks downstream. Beware the slick rocks beyond the railings and please stay on the maintained trail.
