Vital Statistics: Elevation: 1400 Metres (4,592 Feet)

Formation Mechanism: Glacial Runoff

Topographic Map: 82o03 Canmore

Description: This narrow canyon is not as well known as Johnston Canyon farther to the west, but it boasts pictographs which Johnston lacks. The short trail is just over 1 km in length, taking you past numerous pictographs that have been dated at over 1,000 years old.

Photo Tips: Overcast days make for great days to photograph canyons. By their very nature, they do not allow a lot of light to penetrate to their base, so overcast days actually brighten up the canyon bottom.
