Description: Along the Bow Valley Parkway, Johnston Canyon has become something of an institution. Tour bus after tour bus parks and strolls the .8 km. (.5 mi.) walk to the lower falls. Those with a little more energy can add another 1.6 km. to reach the upper falls. The canyon is wide and airy. The trail drops right into the canyon where a metal catwalk has been fastened directly to the canyon wall to ease walking.
